Well, Oran. I can confirm for you that you got an insanely good deal. Unless that SI1 is terribly ugly, which it doesn't sound like it is, or unless there's some kind of crack underneath the stone, or something like that, you did some excellent shopping. It would be difficult for me to buy that stone wholesale for that price, let alone to try and make any money selling it to you.

6.49 x 6.51 x 4.02 mm
1.03
F
SI1
Cut Very Good
Depth 61.9%
Table 55%
Girdle medium to slightly thick
cutlet none
polish very good
symmetry very good
Fluo medium

I am a total newb to this but from the SI's I have seen @ the jeweler, I would put this one at SI1-SI2, and the 1c @ SI3

Hey Oran. Thanks for replying so quickly. The 1.00ct E SI2 was cheap, but the 1.03ct F SI1 is ridiculously cheap. Are you sure it's an SI1? Would you mind copying for me the stats on the cert? I checked another industry site, and it still looks way too cheap. Something doesn't smell right here.

Ira,

I got both of them on amazon.com. The 1c E color is still on their site if you want to take a look at it.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/gsl/search/results?stoneShape=round&priceLow=3000&priceHigh=3500&stoneWeightLow=1&stoneWeightHigh=6&stoneCutLow=5&stoneCutHigh=4&stoneColorLow=23&stoneColorHigh=21&stoneClarityLow=13&stoneClarityHigh=6&productGroupID=loose_diamonds_display_on_website&node=13668181

I assure you Amazon.com does not still have THAT diamond or cert, as I am looking at both right now. It takes them a while to delist their inventory sometimes (apparently).

The 1.03 has a very good GIA cut grade and no I have not had them independently appraised.

Thanks for confirming for me that selling it would be a pain. I will have both appraised and post the values here, as I am interested to know as well.

Hi Oran. From what I can tell, you got an amazing deal on both of them. So much so, in fact, that I'd really appreciate it if you could inform me and my readers where you picked up such a great deal! In fact, the deal on the 1.03ct F SI1 is so good, it's suspect to me. On rapnet, an trade-only site for dealing between wholesale companies, the cheapest 1.03 F SI1 "excellent" cut grade with Medium Blue Fluorescence was $3978. You write "Ideal cut" but what's the GIA cut grade? Have you had your stone independently appraised to confirm that it's the diamond that matches the cert?

Even if everything's OK, you're much better off returning the 1.00ct E SI2 versus selling it yourself. The odds of you getting all of your money back through a private sale are slim.

Hello. I have two stones.

The first is GIA 1.0c E SI2 Good cut, faint florescence $3450.00.
The second is GIA 1.03c F SI1 Ideal cut, medium florescence $3867.00.

I bought both online and see no haziness in either. The problem with the 1c is I can see inclusions towards one side with my naked eye. I really have to look, but I can still barely see them, hence ordering the second stone. The other stone looks great! What is the value of the 1c E stone, as I can either send it back or sell it on my own, and did I get a good deal on either of them?

If it's not hazy or milky, then you have a fantastic diamond that you bought at a great price. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise! Enjoy it!

May you and your fiance share a long life together filled with health, happiness, and love!

Hi Ira, thanks for replying to my questions. To answer yours, the stone is not hazzy at all, its actually surprisingly clear even with that blue issue. I did get to see the diamond before we purchased it under bright lighting and didnt really see the blue that i keep hearing about. I hope that is a good thing and Im trying not to let it affect the way I feel about my diamond. Thank you so much.

Hi Rita. Thanks for writing.
First the bad news: To be perfectly honest with you, had you come to me before you bought the diamond asking me if you should buy it or not, I would have advised against it.

Now the good news: As I mention in the article above, Strong Blue diamonds only usually appear hazy. You didn't write in your comment that the diamond you bought has any issues visually. It wouldn't surprise me, since your diamond in an H color. Hazy Strong Blue fluorescent stones are usually higher in color (D-F). So, if that's the case, then you got yourself a great deal. $5800 is significantly less than the prices on James Allen for an almost equivalent stone (with Medium or less fluorescence). For example:

1.01 H VVS2 Medium Blue Excellent Cut for $6320

The reason I recommend people only buy Medium or less fluorescence is because I recommend people buy online where there is no reliable way to check for haziness in sunlight due to fluorescence. So instead of taking a risk and buying a cheaper Strong Blue stone in the hope that theirs won't be hazy, I recommend people avoid the issue all together. But if that risk is already behind you, and you're happy with your diamond, then just enjoy it and don't worry about what's written on the certificate.

Congratulations! May you and your fiance live a long and happy life together filled with much blessing!
