Archive for Very Good Polish
This is great deal for a princess cut. I was looking at 0.90 ct ‘I’ color diamonds. Base on the dimensions, they were virtually identical in size. Here you get a brighter diamond and it is 20% cheaper then the 0.90s I saw.

Q: I am currently looking for a loose 1 Carat (or slightly larger) Princess Cut Diamond with the following criteria:
Ideal Cut (I realize GIA doesn’t rate this for princess cuts)
D-F Colour
VVS1-VS2
65-70% Table
65-73% Depth
Excellent-Very Good Symmetry/Polish
Budget $6000-$8000
I have been reading the information on your site and have taken your advice on searching for diamonds on the James Allen website. I think I have found one I like but would appreciate your opinion on this specific diamond and any others you might recommend. I know you have said before that the images are already magnified without the use of the loupe but I do see a black spot on this particular diamond and just wonder if by chance you might be able to see it with the naked eye?

Q: I am a huge fan of your site both for useful information and a good laugh or two when the diamond searching has got me down. I am looking to get ready make the plunge here in the next month or so and have been looking for the perfect diamond to pop the question with.
That being said, I am a normal person and am on a tight budget. I’m looking for the best round brilliant cut diamond that I can get for $1500. I have been trying to find something in the G-H color range, eye clean up to VS1 clarity, preferably an ideal cut and a size around .70 ct (up to .75 ct max). I don’t have a problem with fluorescence up to medium and am really just trying to get the most impressive stone I can and stay on my budget.
This is the link to the wedding set that I plan on putting it into.
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. You’re site has already opened my eyes to so many realities that I wouldn’t have gotten from anywhere else (especially not the industry that is trying to keep the wool over my eyes!).
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
I have been seeing some interest in oval cut diamonds. Oval cuts are a viable alternative to round brilliant cuts. They have similar features and you get a large diamond (dimension wise) for you money. This diamond is a beautiful example of an excellent valued oval cut. The diamond has very large measurements and is significantly cheaper then a similar round brilliant cut diamond.
