The $2,000 price point seemed to be real popular with our post of a princess cut last week, so we figured we’d show a beautiful round diamond in that range. As you may have read in our Hearts On Fire review, Brian Gavin’s Signature is a great find for those of you who are looking for the best cut and most brilliant diamond you can find. This is a perfect 0.61ct one. You can see the gorgeous set of hearts and arrows (click here for the image) on the diamond. Its eye-clean and an excellent value.

Q: I am looking for a 1.5 carat round, Very eye clean, good color and excellent cut. My budget is 11k. What do you think of Brillance.com as online vendor? Read More→
Q: I have about a $5000 budget, maximum, for a diamond for an already purchased engagement ring. My fiancee has her heart set on a 1.5(can be 1.48ish or better) carat diamond. We’d like at least good cut, J color, and SI2 or better clarity. I thought I knew what I was doing until I started noticing things like Clarity Enhancement(we don’t want) and then when I researched that I came upon your articles about GIA vs. the other certifiers. Can you please help???

I forgot to mention that I needed a Princess with best color, clarity, and as close to 1.5 carat as possible, all for around $5k!!! The more and more I search, the task seems to be nearly impossible!!! Read More→
Q: Firstly, thank you for putting together this website and service, great stuff. I am looking to purchase an engagement ring to best emulate this I saw in a retail store:
http://www.birks.com/en/featured/Engagement/Solitaire-Diamond-Rings/g64-712/5000022078
My girlfriend’s expectations have been set already to be very happy with a .75 carat, I would like to find the cheapest option for an eye clean .75-.8 ideal cut round diamond ’I’ color or higher (I could notice the difference with a J or lower and I think I may be slightly color blind.) Also, she prefers white gold so I think ’I’ color or higher is best. Her friend recently got engaged and received a 1 carat diamond ring but it looked cloudy and did not sparkle, I would prefer to go with .75 ideal cut that will sparkle the most.
If you could help me find the cheapest option with those criteria that would be great; if you think a flaw could definitely be covered 100% by a prong I could go for that. I totally understand that this is not an investment, but an expensive piece of enjoyment. I don’t want to get a non-certified ring with clarity enhancement, that could be considered fake by her, but if she will never see a flaw then it doesn’t matter to me.
I would like to propose mid to end of this month, May, I have been working overtime everyday to pay for the ring so I can’t answer my phone much, if you could contact me back by email I would appreciate it greatly.
Thank you in advance Read More→
Q: Your site is great and very informative. Thanks for your efforts. I have however, discovered it after I have made a purchase at James Allen. I hope you don’t mind (just for my peace of mind) to let me know if the diamond I purchased below would be eye clean with a lot of brilliance/sparkle and no bow tie?

Q: I see where you have given suggestions about finding a diamond… I am looking to purchase a stone in the following ranges: close to 1 carat as possible, color I-G, cut good-very good, clarity S1 at a minimum. I have looked through the James Allen site but I am overwhelmed. I am a school counselor and don’t have much of a bank to break; 3000 dollar range is what I am looking for. Hopefully you can help. Q&A: Need Help Selecting Princess Cut Diamond with Matching Side Stones
Posted by: DU | Comments (0)Q: Let me start by saying the website is phenomenal. The whole diamond buying experience can be so overwhelming and the information you provide helps reduce much of the anxiety. I’m looking to propose soon to my live in girl friend of 10 years and have decided on pricess cut stones in this setting:
http://www.jamesallen.com/design-your-three-stone-ring/three-stone-princess-cut-engagement-rings.html.
I wanted to have larger and different colored side stones than the ones James Allen provides in this setting. After speaking with a customer service representative they said I could pick all 3 stones myself or have them pick the 2 side stones and then I could choose the middle stone. This would lower the cost of the setting initially and would leave me with a budget for all 3 stones of $6500-$7000. I wanted the side stones to be 1/2 carat and then get as large as middle stone as possible and still stay within my budget(best value/best stone). After reading your information on princess cut stones I would be looking for eye-clean VS2, I-H colored. Do you think I should allow James Allen to pick my side stones or should I do it myself? Also, with side stones is there a specific size the middle stone should be? Any advice with regards to the individual stones would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much and I look forward to you response. Read More→
