LeBron James Gets Engaged: Sweet Savannah’s Pear-Shaped Sparkler
Posted by: | CommentsMiami Heat superstar LeBron James and Savannah Brinson recently got engaged at a new year’s party at SL Nightclub in Miami. The happy couple has been dating since high school and has two children together, LeBron James, Jr., 11, and Bryce Maximus, 4.
Now on to the ring! James proposed with a stunning 5 carat pear shaped diamond ring. According to Aslam Bakshi, owner of Diamond Images USA, “The ring is a traditional Tiffany style ring with a pear shape diamond in the center along with two tapered diamond baguettes on each side. The center diamond should be at least 4-5 carats…with an approximate retail value of between $250,000 and $300,000.” Wow.
After the New Year’s countdown, LeBron surprised Savannah in front of other Miami Heat players, as well as friends and family. It was actually a real team effort as Heat guard Dwayne Wade kept the ring safe until the proposal and Heat forward Chris Bosh made sure that everything ran smoothly for the big moment.
“It was real cool,” LeBron said. “It was an opportunity for me with my personal life. She’s happy. My family is happy. That’s what it’s all about. It is a good point in my life right now. I’m very excited about both on the court and off the court.”
It’s too bad LeBron didn’t contact Truth About Diamonds before he decided to buy – we could have saved him a boatload of money (not that he needs it). Â Here’s a beautiful 5.01 G SI1 that he could have gotten for $106,320 – less than half the estimated price he paid:

The Maid Did It! Private Detective Solves Missing Engagement Ring Mystery
Posted by: | CommentsWhat do you do when you realize you can’t find your $350,000 engagement ring? Do you contact the police? Well, if you don’t want the public exposure and your ring is not covered by insurance, you have one option left: hire your very own private detective to follow the trail of evidence and uncover the whereabouts of your 11 carat emerald-cut diamond ring.
That’s what a Florida couple did last month when they realized their engagement ring was missing. They remembered last seeing the ring in the cup on their dresser just before Christmas, but were also sure that there were other people in their home at the time.
Enter private eye John Milano, a former police officer. The couple enlisted his expertise to locate the ring, and promised a $5,000 reward to the lucky individual who could lead them to the treasure.
Milano’s first order of business was conducting polygraph tests of everyone who was in the house at the time of the theft. In order to follow the footsteps of the thief, he also contacted local pawn shops in Martin County, Florida, as well as New York City – the diamond center of the country.
The only suspect to fail the polygraph test was 26-year-old house cleaner Cody Mejias. After that, she began to avoid Milano, thus prompting him to get serious about her potential guilt. “I hunted her down,” he said. “She refused to come in so we had to get the police involved.” Read More→
