The Glitzy Golden Globes

Now this is especially the case if the girl is a glamorous entertainer headed for the red carpet of the Golden Globes this past Sunday night in Hollywood. We’ve checked out the reviews and the pictures of who had the glitziest diamonds and have assembled the highlights here for you. Get your sunglasses ready for all the sparkle!
Diamond Studded Headbands

First, there’s Charlize Theron who made a knockout entrance with her Cartier diamond headband and soft hair-do to match. And also appearing in a daring black garland headband with diamond accents was Michelle Williams. Her headband and diamond studs were courtesy of Forevermark Diamonds and designed by Fred Leighton. We think the headband beautifully complemented her short hair-do.
The next group of leading ladies made bold fashion statements with dashing diamond drop earrings. First, there’s Kate Beckinsale with massive diamond drop jewels and bangles by famous New York diamond jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz. Her strapless neutral-colored gown and bare neck took back seat to this bold bling.

My personal favorite? Â Seal and Heidi Klum:
Seal pulled out all the stops for his extraordinary proposal to Heidi Klum.The singer whisked his supermodel girlfriend off in a helicopter and, while most of us would probably be chuffed with just that, he didn’t stop there. He flew Heidi to the top of a 14,000 ft glacier where he had arranged for a specially-made igloo to be built. Inside was a bed covered in rose petals, dozens of candles and plenty of food and Champagne for them to celebrate with. Heidi later described it as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime event’!
Jessica Simpson – A Single Lady Again

It looks as if Jessica Simpson dropped BeyoncĂ©’s immortalized ultimatum to former boyfriend and football star Tony Romo.  Here’s how it went down:
Jessica: “Tony, if you like it, then you better put a ring on it.”
Tony: “uhhhh, I guess I don’t like it that much.”
Jessica: “I’m going home to daddy!”
And with that, their long running relationship ended.
Ivanka Trump Now Officially a MOT (Member of the Tribe), and Officially Engaged

Ivanka Trump, daughter of real estate and reality TV mogul Donald Trump, has confirmed that she is now officially Jewish. Â And now that this minor detail has been taken care of, she was finally allowed to become engaged to marry her long-time Jewish boyfriend, Jared Kushner.
This was no simple matter. Â Jared Kushner comes from a very well respected Orthodox Jewish family from New Jersey and New York. Â Converting to Judaism under by Orthodox standards is a process that takes a very long time and is a serious commitment. Â She had to learn a tremendous amount of information and to commit to a very different sort of lifestyle.
Now the important question: Â What kind of ring did he give her? Â Did she pluck something out of her own collection?
Update: According to CDInsight, Jared gave Ivanka a diamond weighing 5.22 carats, and apparently it was, in fact, from her own line of jewelry!

Christina Milian, R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, actress, and model extraordinaire has confirmed that she is now engaged to Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and producer The-Dream. Â Apparently the ring is a six carat (!!!!) beauty from the Ivanka Trump Collection.

Kim Kardashian: De Beer’s Ace in the Hole?

In what is perhaps the latest and greatest sign of just how much things have changed in the diamond business, De Beers has chosen reality TV star Kim Kardashian to help promote diamonds from Botswana. Just to remind those who might have forgotten, De Beer’s previous “icon of style” was Iman, the freakishly beautiful African princess married to eternal rock star David Bowie. The same Iman who looks a year younger for every year she ages. The same Iman who fights for important worthwhile issues of starvation and childhood AIDS in Africa. Maybe it’s just me, but Kardashian, the star of Keeping up with the Kardashians on E! and of her very own sex-tape, seems like a bit of a step down. On the one hand, you have a true artistocrat of a celebrity, using her beauty and clout to try and make a difference in the world, and on the other hand, you have a celebutant who’s just famous enough to be asked to participate in Dancing with the Stars.
De Beers, I ask you openly, could you not find anybody to agree to be your spokesperson on the spectrum of celebrity between A-list and D-list? Is it a matter of money? Is this one of the ways you have decided to cut costs in order to show a profit this year?
