Q:I am looking for a round, cushion, or oval shape diamond under $2000. As far as clarity is concerned, anything ”eye-clean” is fine. Of course, I would like the biggest diamond, I don’t like the faint yellow tint. I read on your website that a medium fluorescent can help a lower color diamond look better, but I’m still hesitant because I want a diamond that sparkles. I was looking at these but if you have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is a great value buy. You can pair this diamond up with a solitaire mounting and come in around $2,000 for everything. Its a beautiful cut and will look great in a solitaire mounting.

Q: Hi, what a great site! OK, I am looking to buy a replacement engagement ring. The original ring is no more because the diamond fell out about a year ago, not to be found. Although I could afford much more, my bride would kill me even if she knew I spent my proposed budget.
Notionally, my budget for rock and ring is about $2500. The ring would probably be a solitaire 4 or 6 prong, white gold. That said, I can see a budget of $2000 for the diamond. Based on my reading at this site, current thinking is:
round, near colorless, eye clean. I’d like to get the biggest decent diamond for the budget, and I look to you for any advice you could offer with the above in mind. I saw some data about how price between say .69 and .7 can be a big step, so any of my initial specs are open to your guidance, including a small bump in budget.
Thanks so much for this.
This is a great diamond on a budget. The cut on this diamond is beautiful, and the inclusions are a faint grey, so they will be eye-clean. The faint fluorescence is an olive in the martini (just a little bonus).

I really like this diamond. The feather inclusion is almost impossible to see even with the magnified photo and the cut of the diamond will have maximum fire and brilliance. The faint fluorescence is also a plus (it should lighten up the diamond a shade).
