Q: Goal: Would love a 2.0ct or bigger for ~$17,000. But I also don’t want to sacrifice color and clarity. I’ve seen some big rings that just look dirty to me, not shiny and a bit hazy.

Budget: 17k – 20k (Lower than 17k is okay too)
Carat: 1.7 or bigger (prefer 2)
Color: G or better
Cut: Very Good or better
Clarity: VS2 or better (must not have imperfections to the naked eye)

Fluorescence: Faint (prefer none)
Table %: Close to 60%
Depth %: Close to 60%

My friend who works at a jewelry store said for the size I want, the table & depth % I mentioned would look best.

Q&A: Looking for Eye Clean Round Brilliant Over 2 carats for Under $20,000

Q: great website! i know enough to be thoroughly confused…love the shape of the princess and its refracted sizzle, but also think the round is a cleaner, classic cut with better fire and light/brilliance. looked at both in 2C size and didnt notice too much of size difference as long as 4c’ were high range. so, now wondering if i should go with lesser quality round or excellent quality princess, but either case am comitted to 2c size. help! please…..thanks a million.

Best I1 Clarity Diamond for $17000: 3.05 Carat H Color Pear Shape

Nothing like the start of a fresh new Daily Diamond series. This one is particularly exciting for me. This series, more than any other, will leverage my skill and experience in the diamond business with James Allen‘s virtual loupe to provide you with unparalleled value. Buying I1 clarity diamonds is not possible with other vendors – most don’t offer then, but even those who do don’t offer magnified pictures. Since the majority of I1s are not eye-clean, you’d most likely wind up being disappointed.

Also, I don’t recommend you buy an I1 without consulting myself or another expert. I am confident that I can tell whether or not a diamond will be eye-clean based on its virtual loupe photo. But this is only because I have looked at so many diamonds through a loupe and without that I have the strong sense to be able to distinguish which magnified stone will be eye-clean and which stone will not be eye-clean.
