hi mike just wondering if you have heard about these 2 diamond companies B2C jewel and adiamor they both offer fair priced diamonds with GIA certificates but there in the USA and im in the UK dont want to part with my cash until ive found out more about them can you help please many thanks wayne.
I’m wondering your opinion on how much a diamond of this quality would cost (basically, I want to see if I overpaid, although preliminary research seems that I didn’t)
GIA Cert 0.80 ct round G color S1 Hearts and Arrows Cut
You just made my day. it is indeed a triple excellent, and I paid roughly the same price as what you linked (I paid $4100 at a brick and mortar store) I knew it would be more than the online price, but I’m happy to know that I didn’t pay hundreds more than comparable diamonds online. The one I found is a Canadian diamond, which seem to be increasing rapidly in popularity. I got dinged on tax, but there isn’t anything I can do about that, but overall I’m now that much happier with my purchase!
I know that I would have avoided tax from the store, but then I would have had to had the diamond shipped elsewhere, then buy the band I wanted from elsewhere, then get it made and be able to hand it to my fiancee. This way, everything is done in one shot, and although I paid 13% sales tax on it, I’m happy with the outcome (and that I can finally stop looking for that perfect diamond!)
I came across this site and I just want to say whoever wrote this article is 100% on point! My fiance bought my engagement ring (1.55 carat diamond channel setting). It’s an I1 and the color is a G. He got an amazing price on it because of the I1 clarity. Let me tell you, I get compliments everday. I’ve been told that my ring is the most beautiful and/or sparkliest ring they’ve ever seen. The jeweler was able to hide the inclusions under the prongs. You can’t even tell it’s an I1. My ring sparkles more than some rings that are of VS or VVS calrity. You can skimp on the clarity, just get a decent cut and color. That’s what really matters. This article is great!
First of all, I want to say, what a great site. I am so pleased that I found it.
Secondly, a close friend of mine is looking to buy a gorgeous ring for his (soon-to-be) fiancee. We’re in Australia, so shopping online is not really as advanced as in the USA or UK, for example. He’s found a lovely Tiffany Novo (from the local Tiffany store) but after reading your website I am wondering whether he would be able to buy something better for a more reasonable price? The issues of course, are tax and insurance, let alone not being able to see what you are purchasing.
Hey Kath. He’d most definitely be better off buying online. The small taxes he’d have to pay ordering online are nothing compared to the massive profit margins stores like Tiffany take. I would recommend you have him contact me via the “Contact Me” form at the link above in the menu bar.
Hi, Iam looking to buy a daimond ring , asscher cut around 2.5 C.would you kindly give some tips about the price and any other related informations? My son will be engaged in coming May.Thanks for your help inadvance.
First of all, I want to say that I am very thankful for this website. I knew very little from researching about diamonds before I stumbled across your information. I bought a ring without a diamond in the middle because I really wanted a 1 carat princess cut. Looking for diamonds was so very hard for me. I followed all of your information and I found a beautiful diamond. I was just looking around at a jewelery store when I noticed a suprisingly affordable diamond. This diamond is a 1 carat princess cut, G color, and a I1 clarity. Now before I came across your website, I always thought an I1 in clarity would be useless. But this diamond was actually eye-clean. I was so surprised. I followed your information in which you said, “If you can find an I1 clarity diamond that is eye-clean then that is even better.” I love the diamond and I’m sure my girlfriend will love it too. I’m so grateful for your help and information.
I wanted to thank you for your information on color. It gave me the confidence to go with a very beautiful, high clarity and well cut “O” color diamond. I’d never given color much thought. Sometimes it looks colorless and other times it has a very nice buttery tone. I was just very happy to find someone with an open mind about color. I would love to meet others with tinted diamonds.

Hi Wayne. I don’t have any real personal experience with either of them, so I can’t really give you any more information. Sorry!

Well, that’s not 100% correct. Had you bought online, you wouldn’t have gotten “dinged” on sales tax. At least for the time being
